Notes: After my work on the DCI project and the discovery of this new technique, I began to experiment with portraits of athletes. Christmas was coming and I figured as I was experimenting and refining my technique, I would create some gifts for family and friends at the same time. This was really the first serious and focused step into sports illustration that has led me here today.
It is easy to see how much more graphic and rudimentary my approach was initially. As I continued to refine my technique, I grew increasingly detailed which is really not surprising giving that I was always a detailed oriented artist.
